The Grafton Guest House in Dublin…

Post Updated August 2015.  The bed & breakfast (B & B) is located in a spectacular old building, and the shabby chic collection of rooms, although small, is clean, comfortable and more than affordable.  Because of the length of our stay we were offered a noticeable discount on our accommodations, and a fine, daily breakfast was included.  Although it has no reception desk, check-in is accomplished in its sister property, The Kellys Hotel, which is just a few doors away.  It is staffed 24 hours a day by a group of extremely friendly and warm people who were always willing to assist.  Take note…South Great George’s, like many of the streets in the City Centre, can be extremely noisy, particularly on the weekends.   Our room faced the street and with the windows closed, we had no problems.  For those who are sensitive to noise, however, you may want to request a room at the rear of the building.  Again, the staff goes out of their way to accommodate.

Update.  I received a notice from the property that it is undergoing renovations, with the room aesthetic being more minimalist and cool (pictured below.)  I can’t wait to return…
