“…better than anything else that I’ve tried.” ― Sarah McLachlan
With buildings dating back to the 17th century, Vieux-Montréal is one of the oldest sections of North America. Don’t let the fact its a tourist attraction prevent you from spending a day here. It will only take a moment before you fall in love with the area. Timeless architecture sits side by side with cafes, pubs, restaurants and local businesses; the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal is gorgeous, particularly at night; great dining options are easy to find and enjoy; and The St. Lawrence river provides great views. Take note, however : Vieux Montreal is quite hilly and paved with cobblestones. Ensure you have comfortable shoes.
